INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY-VIRTUAL HACKATHON
Talent Hack is organising a one-of-a-kind, all-women virtual hackathon on 6th – 7th March 2021 to celebrate International Women’s day!
Join us as we hack into the future in which innovation and technology creates unprecedented opportunities for women to play an active role in building more inclusive and efficient systems that accelerates the process of gender equality.

Use your creativity and skill to build and produce an impactful solution that helps women in the workplace find community, support and avenues for growth in up and coming industries.
This hackathon is designed to encourage women to find better opportunities for employment by organisations fostering and creating strong forums of empowered female professionals.
To be involved, all you will need is a team of 4-6 women, laptops and access to your company board room on the 8th March!

Innovation and technology provide unprecedented opportunities, yet trends indicate a growing gender digital divide. Women are widely under-represented in the field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and design. It prevents them from developing and influencing gender-responsive innovations to achieve transformative gains for society.
It is therefore vital that women’s ideas and experiences equally influence the design and implementation of the innovations that shape our future societies. This is what we’ve set out to achieve through our International Women’s Day Virtual Hackathon.
It is an opportunity for talented women who are already a part of the corporate world and thus privy to obstacles women face when it comes to their professional growth and for them to come together and device ingenious ways of improving and elevating female positions while boosting their chances of success in the workplace.
We call on you to invest one CSR day to brainstorm, plan, develop, finish up and submit solutions that will build and empower professional women putting inspiration, creativity and ingenuity at the centre stage.
We invite businesswomen from all over UK to come together to discover and create solutions to problems that empowers their professional standing and creates better opportunities for them.
How to Enter:
Registration is now open and closes 6th March 2020. To validate your entry please fill out this form and you will receive a welcome email with all the details on what to expect and the resources you need to be ready to go on the day of the event. We will also provide you with a digital marketing pack so that you can promote your company involvement as well as recruit internal company team members.
Details of the Hackathon, along with the three challenges will be made available the day before the event to ensure a level playing field for all participants! You will also receive all channel and mentor information in an email 48 hrs before the event. In the mean time we’d love the opportunity to engage with you and get to know you better! The event is open to anyone who identifies as a woman with the UK: UX Designers, Developers, Product Owners, Marketers, Programmers, Sales Executives, HR professionals and many more are welcomed to join.
The aim is to have multi-functional teams of 4 to 6 women, working together as actual product teams.

Start & Finish: The event will begin on Saturday, March 6th at 08.00hrs BST and run until 18.00hrs BST Sunday 7th March.
Kick-Off: The team at Talent Hack will kick off with a presentation briefly explaining what we’re all about and give you some inspiration for challenges you will work on.
Teams: You will be working in teams of 4-6 people. As mentioned, the aim is to build solutions as teams, so make sure everyone in your team can contribute in a way that allows you to present a complete solution/product at the end of the day.
Suggested Team Roles: Ideation person. Designer. Developer. Domain Expert. Business Expert. Marketing Guru.
Challenge: Choose one of our three challenge that specifically excites team; be creative, innovative and put yourself in the shoes of your target audience to give them the best experience possible!
Presentation: Every team will present the hack they’ve built with a demo (if time allows) the same afternoon in the last hour of the event. The TH team along with their judging panel will ask questions on solutions and products and at the end of the day, decide on the winning team.
Winners: The winning team will have an original idea, that’s both innovative and customer focused, as well as well-executed.
Logistics: All you need is your laptop, a vacant boardroom at your office and lots of enthusiasm
Prizes: The point of this hackathon is to come together with other like-minded professionals to work on solving equal gender opportunities within the workplace, share ideas and learn from each other on a celebrated occasion such as the International Women’s Day. The winning idea will be put forward to women empowerment organisations for them to develop further.

What is a “Virtual Hackathon?”
Traditionally a hackathon is an event where participants from a variety of backgrounds team up to “hack” together creating effective solutions and program unique applications; teams/individuals are able to show off truly innovative projects they built and compete for prizes.
In our International Women’s Day Virtual Hackathon virtual, all participants are remotely connected. Irrespective of their location, hackathon enthusiasts can participate and demonstrate their skills on an online hackathon platform using various tools. Our virtual hackathon thus gives everyone the opportunity to participate, showcase their skills, and have fun from the comfort of their office!
